The favorite time of planting lily bulbs is usually a breakthrough September and July, although you can also plant them within the spring - particularly overdue blooming varieties. Before planting, carefully prepare a place under the lilies: weed, cultivate, mix the soil with mature compost to your depth of about forty cm and leave for two to three weeks. Only after this time may be planted lily bulbs. Planting depth depends on how big is the onion and should be equal to the area. For compact soil we planted a bit shallower, on a sandy -- deeper. If you create a new lily bed of flowers or even a group - bulbs usually are planted at 25-30 cm, but vigorously growing options (eg. Trumpet lilies) and the ones which we leave in the ground for many years - even at 50 cm. Ilya onions dig with early September and immediately planted at a new site to spring at a temperature of about 2 degrees Celsius covered using sawdust or peat. Wintering in the land after 2-3 years of cultivation within the same place worth drill down, remove dead roots, the longest cut with regards to 1-2 cm and planted within the new location.
